2026 DASH/IHDEA meeting: 05-09 October in Dublin, Ireland

Session Ideas due by April 13

Calling all software developers and scientists who are interested in algorithms, software and data systems related to heliophysics (solar physics, space physics, geospace and related sciences)! Come see what your colleagues are working on!

Submit your proposal via this Google form by April 13

For the upcoming meeting from 5 to 7 October 2026 in Dublin (Ireland), we are looking for individuals or groups to propose session topics for consideration. Session proposers become the session chairs, and help coordinate the meeting agenda with the organizing committee. As always, we are seeking an interactive meeting, with plenty of time for discussion and networking. Proposers can suggest the format (e.g., standard conference talks, guided panel presentations with discussion, miro-board directed discussions, plenary plus discussion, discussions generating best practices, mixed, etc.), including Birds of a Feather sessions. There will also be poster sessions and lightning talks.

The following are examples of session topics:

This list is not exhaustive, so feel free to propose your own idea!

You may propose individually, or jointly with others for a session leadership role. Proposals from early careers are especially appreciated. It is expected that at least one session chair or co-chair be present in-person at the meeting. The due date for session proposals is April 13.

Abstracts will be due around late August, so expect an activity surge then to organize your session.

Save the date!

The 2026 DASH / IHDEA Meeting will take place 5-9 October 2026, hosted by the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies (DIAS) in Dublin, Ireland, with virtual participation supported.

The DASH (Data Analysis and Software in Heliophysics) and IHDEA (International Heliophysics Data Environment Alliance) meetings bring together scientists and software developers working on data analysis, algorithms, community software, data systems, and standards across heliophysics - from the Sun to geospace and beyond. We invite the full solar and heliophysics data, software, and science community to join us.

Looking forward to seeing you!!
